Ideas for Engravings on Wedding Rings/Bands

There is this tradition that the couple in love while getting in the eternal relationship gets something engraved on their wedding rings or wedding bands. Some of the couples may resort to something very traditional like having their initials on the other’s wedding ring but others can be very innovative.  Let’s see some of the real ideas about what may be engraved on a wedding ring.

1. Biblical Passages

Recently the well-known TV star Kim Kardashian and her fiancé Kris Humphries were reported in news to be studying the bible in a hope to find out some inspiring passage(s) that they would be able to choose for getting engraved on their wedding bands. It has been reported that they wanted to pick something “with meanings” to have engraved on their wedding rings or bands whatever they choose. It can be anybody’s guess how large must a wedding ring be to hold a full passage from the bible.

2. A Deal’s a Deal

The famous American actress Courtney Cox after having dated with several men and having gotten into a number of short lived romantic relationships finally married David Arquette in 1999. Their wedding rings had, probably, the most unique inscribing in them. The words engraved inside their wedding rings were “A Deal’s a Deal”. And actually it looks like the deal was not that much of a deal because their life as a married couple came to an end by their separation in October 2010.

3. Something High Tech

Google Earth, Smart Phones and GPRS have made it so easy to find out the coordinates, of where ever you are, within no time that the young are now getting engraved the coordinates of the place where they met the first time. Isn’t that a novel idea?

4. Something from Literature

Classical literature may offer you a lot of interesting and inspiring phrases or lines for an engraving on your wedding ring. Shakespeare, John Keats, Robert Frost can be some of the good sources but one can find his/her own inspiration as well. For instance there can be a promise like “I’ll not Budge an inch” engraved on wedding rings of the two lovers. Or what about “Though this be madness, yet there is method in’t”, or even something like “never doubt I love” picked from Hamlet. Choose something for your wedding ring that is meaningful and has an appeal for both of you. It can even be something with one part on his wedding ring and another part on her wedding ring like the hubby may have “So give me your hand” from Bob Dylan song on his wedding ring and the beloved wife may ask for “and say you’ll be mine” to be engraved on her wedding ring.

In any case if you give it a thought you may come up with even more interesting ideas having you wedding rings engraved. After all, the engravings on wedding rings are meant to remind you of some sweet promises that made and common memories that you cherish and not of your nick names or just the dates of your wedding. So make your wedding rings truly refreshing and memorable.
